From Le C\u00e8dre, you are very well placed to visit many of the castles that make the region and Touraine so prestigious. We of course recommend:<\/p>\n

\u2013 the castle of Azay-le-Rideau, jewels of the Renaissance, 30 minutes west of Saint Branchs
\n– the ch\u00e2teau de l’Islette, just next to the ch\u00e2teau d’Azay le Rideau<\/p>\n

\u2013 the royal castle of Amboise, 30 minutes to the northeast<\/p>\n

\u2013 the Ch\u00e2teau du Clos-Luc\u00e9, home of Leonardo da Vinci, 30 minutes to the northwest<\/p>\n

– the Gaillard castle, the most Italian of the Loire castles, in Amboise (30mn north-east)<\/p>\n

\u2013 the castle of Chenonceaux, nicknamed the castle of the ladies, the most visited private monument in France, 30 minutes to the east
\n\u2013 the Ch\u00e2teau de Villandry, with its remarkable park and gardens, 30 minutes to the northwest
\n\u2013 the castle of Langeais, very well preserved and little modified, 30 minutes to the west<\/p>\n

\u2013 the castle of Rigny-Uss\u00e9, source of inspiration for the tales of Perrault and Disney animations, 30 minutes to the northwest
\n\u2013 the town of Loches and its castle overlooking the Indre, 25 minutes to the south<\/p>\n

\u2013 the Royal fortress of Chinon, and its old town, 45 minutes to the west<\/p>\n

– the dungeon of Montbazon, known as the fortress of the Black Hawk, with its recreational workshops on the Middle Ages, 10 minutes north<\/p>\n

\u2013 And again the castle of Montpoupon, Montr\u00e9sor<\/p>\n<\/div>
